The Directorate General of Trade Organizations (DGTO) was created in 2007 as an attached department under the Ministry of Commerce and performs its functions under Trade organizations Act, 2013 and Trade Organizations Rules, 2013 that provides the scope of regulation of trade organizations. It also performs functions of Regulator of Trade Organizations under section 14 of Trade organizations Act, 2013.
